Initial Ideas
For this unit I have decided to look at a pub in Manchester called the Courtyard, I have started by looking at the colours caused by the light in the Courtyard as the main reason I enjoy going to the Courtyard is because of the nice atmosphere created. As I am interested in the colours I altered some of the photos I had tack from inside the pub, to make the colours in the photos more vibrant.

As I am interested in the colours I altered some of the photos I had tack from inside the pub, to make the colours in the photos more vibrant.
The most prominant colours have been brougt out and are now much brighter. I have tried to mix the colous in the photos at the side using gouache paint, however it is difficult to capture the same vibrancy.
I then tried out some different media to create the coulour.
After this I decided that using black paper and pastles was the best way to achieve the effect I wanted. As the colours stood out well also i could achieve the patches of light by smuding and blending them.
Once I had done this I created some drawings from the photos, I only coppied a small section of the image to give a more abstact feel, as i thought this would be quite interesting.
Although I was happy with how these drawings turned out I felt that they would be much more interesting on a larger scale. Therefore I created a similar drawing on some A1 black paper.
